Extended-Term Service Options

Whether your ideal volunteer opportunity is one week long or all summer long, we have a place for you! Your compassion and energy are greatly needed in host communities worldwide. While Global Volunteers' standard international service programs are two and three weeks (with many one-week options), our year-around service program schedule in most host communities enables you to choose a published program start date and extend your service beyond the standard term to up to 24 weeks. Many student volunteers and families choose this option during spring break, summer vacation and J-term, while professionals and retirees enjoy teams scheduled during the quieter late spring and fall months. From Four to 24 Weeks

You may add one, two or more weeks for an additional fee of $300 per week to a standard Global Volunteers service program itinerary in many countries throughout the year. Your volunteer coordinator can identify available extended-term periods. During your extended term, you continue the work project under the direction of the host organization, and following the same or similar daily work schedule. Your team leader is available for routine check-ins and any special circumstances.

Your volunteer coordinator will work with you to customize an extended-term option that best meets your primary service interest and the host community's needs. Our proprietary volunteer preparation methods ensure mutually beneficial catalytic experiences between you and the people you serve. You are given the opportunity to be fully engaged on work projects throughout your chosen service term.
