Founded in 1965 during the Irish "Civil Rights" movement, the Corrymeela Community has welcomed thousands of Catholics and Protestants, survivors and combatants, youth and adults who come together for a few days to more than a week to begin the journey of listening, talking, and learning from each other.
This is no small feat, when one realizes that in some of the Protestant and Catholic neighborhoods of the North, it is not uncommon for a person of one faith to never have met someone of the other. Corrymeela's programs are apolitical and non-denominational, focusing on uniting all those seeking to contribute to international peace.
