Michele manages the organization's day-to-day business. She earned a Master's Degree in Liberal Studies/International Communications and a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. Before joining the staff in 1990, she worked as a public relations consultant, and held communications manager positions at various departments in Minnesota State Government, and in non-profit organizations. Michelle Heerey
Vice President for Operations:
Michelle manages Global Volunteers' programs around the globe, including host relations, project planning, budgeting and evaluation, and continuous improvement. She has a Masters Degree in Public Health with a focus on international health and development. Michelle has previously held positions at USAID, Johns Hopkins University and several other NGOs.

Bonnie Christensen
Vice President for Finance:

Bonnie manages all financial aspects of Global Volunteers including department budgets, monthly budget reviews, our yearly audit and fiscal reports as well as acting as a liaison with Global Volunteer's Finance Committee of the Board of Directors. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Summa cum Laude, with a BS in Accounting. Bonnie has previously held finance/finance management positions at Honeywell, Northwest Airlines, and Deluxe Corporation.

Judy Strobel
In-house Counsel and Director of Marketing:
Judy advises the CEO on all legal matters, and manages Global Volunteer's marketing and media efforts. She has a Bachelor's Degree in journalism and French, a diploma in broadcast journalism, a Juris Doctor (Law) and will soon earn an MBA. Judy formerly held executive and director positions in Minnesota's private, public and nonprofit sectors.

Director of Information Systems:
Don manages all of Global Volunteers' technology. He earned both a Bachelor's Degree in Math and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. With a background in high tech business, he employs his extensive expertise in process reengineering and technology, continually upgrading our communications in the field, our online efficiency and service to our volunteers.

Susan Goll
Director of Volunteer Coordination:
Susan manages our Volunteer Coordination department. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a background in Adult Education and the Travel business. Susan has served in Tutova, Romania, and spent six months volunteering in Africa. She has also traveled extensively throughout the USA, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Central and Latin America, and China.

Development Officer and Executive Assistant to the CEO:
Born and raised in Bosnia, Stela moved to the United States at the age of 14. She has a Bachelor' Degree in Global Studies and a Master's Degree in International Peace Studies from the University for Peace in Costa Rica. She has lived and traveled extensively around Europe and Central and South America.
