"As a Global Volunteer, I'm very impressed with the background for the various programs and the ease of accessing the materials. I've found all the information on your site very helpful and complete. Good job! "

We know that in choosing a "volunteer vacation," you expect to make a genuine contribution while learning about the host community you serve. Our deep intercultural understanding is rooted in four decades of practical and academic experience... from which you benefit on our teams. Count on us to guide you through your service contribution.
Volunteer satisfaction is our service legacy. Team members consistently report that our exceptional program preparations and field expertise ensure that they "hit the ground running" and are fully engaged in the work projects. All aspects of the volunteer experience (preparations, host community arrangements, work project) are consistently rated by team members above 4.0 on a 5-point scale. Today, 49 percent of all our volunteers come to us from word-of-mouth referrals.
Moreover, 35 percent of our volunteers return to join another service program. Many have participated on 9, 10 and up to 18 teams!

"This is my first Global Volunteers trip, but I am a veteran of a dozen volunteer projects around the world. Without a doubt, this is the best team environment... Some teams have conflict, some have outliers, and some teams fall apart but this team was almost perfect -- the best."

While most volunteers recognize their important role in strengthening our development partnerships, it's not the immediate, "quick fix" that some crave. We explain that each volunteer is a "link in a long chain of volunteers who have come before, and will follow" in each host community. Yet, while the long-term success of each program doesn't balance upon one volunteer, most know that their personal contribution can bring about permanent change -- in their lives and in the lives of those they serve. The link between our partnerships and genuine community development is you.
