Global Volunteers' Network of Care:
Classroom Sponsors

Global Volunteers enables students across the U.S. to learn about and support children of all ages in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America. Through classroom and individual sponsorships, students can provide school materials, games, toys, and uniforms for children who might not otherwise be able to attend school.

Become a Contributing Classroom
Bring the realities of these children's lives directly into your classroom. Ask your students to commit to raising $500 for one or more children in our sponsorship countries. This can be a school-wide challenge, or a project for one class or committee.

  1. Establish a classroom or school goal. Decide to support a school-aged child, pre-schooler, or group of children in a country that interests your class. You might include this project as part of a civics, world history, language, religion, or international relations class or a service-learning program. Even grade-schoolers can respond to this appeal!
  2. Complete the sponsorship agreement. Once your sponsorship is finalized, we'll enable you to follow the progress of your sponsored child(ren) throughout the year. You'll receive photos of the community, school, and children. We'll also send updates on news and events in the sponsored child(ren)'s country.
  3. Raise $500 per sponsored child per year. For a class of 35 students, each student can commit to raising $15 per sponsored child. Several classes can join together to sponsor more than one child. We'll supply fundraising support materials to help make this a fun part of the project.
