Jane's legacy.
Jane was a beloved volunteer who served on programs in China, Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Ghana, Poland and Hungary. Her compassion was never-ending and her dedication to others was inspiring to those who volunteered with her.
She was a true ambassador for peace, always sharing Global Volunteers' philosopy of service with the media, her community, and family and friends.
Here are her thoughts after returning from Costa Rica in 2002. Jane and her husband Bob volunteered at a women's crafts cooperative.
"I developed true friendships. I truly felt like a servant-learner and co-worker with those who worked in the store. We were all individual people who lived together as one. Global Volunteers is the perfect medium for waging peace through understanding between cultures."
The staff at Global Volunteers will always remember Jane as an upbeat, fun-loving and gentle ambassador for peace.
