Because of his postions as former headmaster of Mtera Secondary School and former secondmaster of Pommern Secondary School, he has intimate knowledge of the needs of the host communities. Further, he's worked with Global Volunteers teams for over 10 years.
Harran was born and grew up in the Magome Village in the Iringa district of Tanzania. He earned a B.A. in Education from the University of Dar es Salaam and was a teacher at Pommern Secondary School for nine years and assistant school principal for four years. Read Haran's expanded profile here.
All Country Managers are trained and experienced in managing diverse groups of people. All have served on one or more volunteer teams, and have completed our intensive two-week team-leader training sessions. Further, all our team leaders are evaluated by the volunteers on each program, and must achieve an established level of performance in order to continue leading Global Volunteers teams.
You'll receive contact information for your Tanzania Country Manager approximately four weeks before your service program begins.
