Tanzania Work Projects

All our work projects center on education - from classroom teaching and public health instruction to school building and repair.

  • Teaching in TanzaniaEnglish Teaching: Many volunteers are needed to teach beginning through intermediate English pronunciation and conversation in high-school classrooms. English is the language of instruction throughout Tanzania. However, in the remote villages, comprehension is limited. Work alongside local teachers and students during the school year in remote partner communities. You can also provide basic computer training on computers donated through volunteers' efforts.

  • Health Care: Physicians, nurses, dentists and physical therapists can serve part-time at rural clinics performing examinations and well-baby checkups. Health care students and other practitioners can offer public health education classes and basic instruction to rural health care workers.

  • Construction and maintenance: Volunteers are always needed to help paint classrooms, build dormitories, install water systems, and assist with other labor tasks related to the repair and expansion of the village school facilities.

All volunteers, regardless of age, skill and professional background can contribute to the on-going work projects in Tanzania. Our hosts make certain your skills and interests are put to the best use on long-term community infrastructure, teaching and medical projects. Your efforts will help ease the suffering and engender hope for the future of students and their families. Lend your heart and hands to make a world of difference!
