Dance is very much a part of culture in Costa Rica. Casual get-togethers will almost always include at least a bit of dancing. This photo was taken while I was strolling in the park on a Saturday afternoon in Alajuela. Central Park is located right in the heart of Alajuela, the third largest city in Costa Rica and where the San José airport is actually located. This park is known for its tall mango trees. This particular Saturday afternoon, there was live music and TONS of couples dancing. And they weren’t teenagers or even young couples – everyone looked at least 40. This is common site in Costa Rica. They were having tons of fun, dancing to the live music in the sunshine. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon!
