Message of the day: Everything is permissible but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own god but the good of others.  1 Corinthians 10 : 23

Mary with her students at Xi’an Biomedical Technical College

Mary and Claudia put in an 8 hour teaching day at the medical institute. The morning 3-hour session with 20 students went well while Mary felt challenged by having 35 fifteen year old, 1st year students in the afternoon class. She is working with her supportive cooperating teacher on strategies. A 9-time veteran of Global Volunteers, Claudia is taking the energizing days in stride.

Jo Carol and Carolyn at High Tech had larger classes than on Monday. Carolyn’s classes seem to enjoy belting out “the wheels on the bus” while Jo Carol’s students found new interest in prepositions as they wrapped toilet paper around a bottle, put an umbrellas in the cup and placed a comb on the towel.

In the afternoon Jo Carol explored the West Market Antiques shops while Carolyn searched for an Internet Cafe. Happily two handsome, charming English speaking students summoned by 2 kind grandmothers came to her rescue and courteously escorted her to a 2nd floor computer center. When the center would not accept Carolyn’s ID, the student generously provided his so she could connect with her family.
