Favorite Family Volunteer Programs

For your next family vacation, consider taking an adventure together to reach out and give back – an adventure in service with Global Volunteers. Participate in one of our family programs where you and your kids can help children and families in need and share in the experience of a lifetime. On some programs, children as young as 6 can be actively engaged.

Nurture babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Draw, sing, and play games. Practice reading English. Or give love to hospitalized children.

Share. Give. Explore. Bond. Care. Learn. Be a Global Volunteer. We live busy lives. Taking time to volunteer together offers a level of bonding that’s very hard to find at home. Further, parents report their children’s global perspective – and most likely yours – expand in unexpected ways. Share in that important learning together as a family.

At the same time, you experience all the color, music, art, and flavor of your host culture. Travel with us – a long-standing non-profit leader in worldwide volunteering.

And consider this: your program contribution and travel costs are tax-deductible! One and two-week itineraries, including lodging, food, local transportation, project materials, and a trained team leader are available year-round. All these logistics will be carefully handled for you, so you and your family can focus on meaningful time together and with the local children and families.

Register for a family volunteer program in the Cook Islands, Ecuador, Greece, Montana, Peru, Poland, Romania, St. Lucia, Tanzania, and West Virginia.

Community and Family Teamwork

Childcare and Early Childhood Education

Teach colors and numbers, read children’s books aloud, and play games. Care for and stimulate children through arts and crafts, music and games, brushing teeth, and other life skills. Share smiles, laughter, hugs, and love!

Children’s Camps and Summer Programs

This is a high-energy assignment! Play games, teach English phrases, read story books, and guide field trips.

English Teaching

Help with fun activities in English such as skits, games, reading stories, songs, and the like. Practice English pronunciation, vocabulary, and phrases with students. Young children volunteers can be very helpful in their peers’ learning.

“I was amazed by my children’s willingness to work hard, go above and beyond what was expected, take initiative, and be so compassionate. As a mom, it is the best feeling to see your children develop into such capable and compassionate people.”
