An Indian Country Adventure

Experience life in an American Indian community on the plains of South Dakota. Unique and meaningful community service opportunities await you on the route to one of America’s most popular tourist destinations!

Give. Explore. Care. Make Friends. Be a Global Volunteer.

Every day is a new adventure in service working under the direction of our community partners. As a volunteer on the reservation, you work one-on-one with the Sicangu Oyate – also known as Sicangu Rosebud Sioux people – to improve their quality of life while experiencing all the color, music, art and flavor of Indian culture. Travel with us – a long-standing non-profit leader in worldwide volunteering.

And consider this: Your program and travel costs are tax-deductible! One-week all-inclusive itineraries are available June – August. There’s no other experience like this!

Community Teamwork

Repair and Maintenance

The need on the Rosebud Reservation is very high. Todd County is the second poorest county in the country. Unemployment is over 80 percent. About 76 percent of the employed labor force on the reservation lives below the poverty level. Labor assistance is our primary community service project. Home repair and painting is a constant need. If you are experienced in electrical and plumbing work, you’ll employ your skills on a variety of home projects. Splitting and delivering firewood is an important project – and one that nearly all ages can work on.

“I was amazed by my children’s willingness to work hard, go above and beyond what was expected, take initiative, and be so compassionate. As a mom, it is the best feeling to see your children develop into such capable and compassionate people.”
