Help children and mothers thrive in Tanzania.

Join a formative team of volunteers supporting young mothers and their babies in rural Tanzania.  Use your life skills, experience and compassion to improve health, nutrition and education – regardless of your age or background.  It’s an experience you’ll never forget!

And, consider this: Your program and travel costs are tax-deductible. Your contribution covers your lodging, food, local transportation as well as project materials and a trained team leader – costs your host community can’t otherwise afford.

There’s so much you can do!
All children deserve a healthy start in life. For just one, two or three weeks, you can help halt the devastating effects of poverty, disease and hunger on children ages 0-2 through our Reaching Children’s Potential Program. Teach health and nutrition education, care for preschoolers, present workshops to pregnant women, demonstrate proper handwashing, repair and paint classrooms and more – while experiencing all the color, music, art and flavor of Tanzanian culture. Travel with us – a long-standing non-profit leader in effective worldwide volunteering.

Give. Explore. Care. Change the World. Be a Global Volunteer.

“Travel For a Purpose”

Why Pay to Volunteer?

Our development partnerships rely on a steady stream of volunteers – of all backgrounds and skills.  Global Volunteers provides essential services no cost to people in need, which enables partner communities to fully benefit from the human and material resources these teams provide. Your tax-deductible contribution not only covers your own daily costs and volunteer recruitment and management, but invests in these ongoing partnerships to sustain the important work from year to year. All inclusive, year-round itineraries include lodging, food, local transportation, project materials, program administrative costs and a trained team leader. Over 33 years worldwide, we’ve refined this model to provide the best direct service to children and families possible through short-term volunteers.

“This was without question the most rewarding experience of my life – helping people with important projects, feeling the warmth and appreciation of children and teens, and living the life of a villager. It was authentic, and unparalleled.”
