Northeastern University Center for Community Engagement
Community engagement is a central theme across Northeastern University’s students’ learning experiences both in and out of the classroom, including academic programs and majors, research opportunities, co-ops, study abroad, and senior capstone projects. Many of these programs are facilitated by the University’s Center of Community Service.
Through programs like Alternative Spring Break (ASB), The Center of Community Service makes many of those experiences attainable for students. The Center envisions transformational partnerships with organizations like Global Volunteers, that recognize the role and leverage the resources of the university in creating a more just world.
Northeastern’s Alternative Spring Break (ASB) with Global Volunteers is a week-long immersive living and volunteering experience. Through meaningful action, reflection, and education, volunteers engage in direct service that addresses a critical, social issue.
