As you explore our service program in Texas, we’d like to share more about program mobility so you know what to expect and can feel comfortable and confident during your experience.

Our service program in Texas takes place in the Rio Grande Valley requiring regular walking and occasional stairs.

Walking: Volunteers should be comfortable walking at least half a mile on paved surfaces.

Community Project: Volunteers are transported by passenger van and must be able to get in and out of vehicles independently. Some work projects require climbing at least one flight of stairs.

Lodging: Lodging may require climbing one flight of stairs. Ground-floor rooms may be available depending on availability. Some rooms are located a short walk from the main lobby where meals are served.
