Fundraising For Your Program

Are you excited to finally have the time to join a volunteer program, but aren't quite sure how to fund your experience on your not-so-steady student salary?

Don't abandon your goal!

Instead of trying to scrape their pennies together, many of our volunteers raise the full or partial amount of their service program fee by starting their own fundraising initiative.

Fundraising is a great way to focus your commitment to volunteer, to involve your friends and family in your project and goals, and encourage others to devote their own time or resources to an important project. You'll be surprised how many people are willing to donate to your effort.

Even as a first-time fundraiser, you can do this. We encourage you to build this in as part of your service program preparation, and will help you create your own fundraising page. Once you join a team, you can receive online donations to your own service program. On your unique page, you can add photos, video, and a personal statement and share it with friends, family, colleagues, professors, advisors -- anyone who might take an interest in your commitment to service!

"I learned a lot. I learned that happiness exists in poverty and that people who have little still have their pride. Most importantly, I learned that children are healing to cynical souls."
~ Chelsey Tollefson,
Peru Volunteer
