Peru Correspondence

( This letter, to our Director of Operations for Peru, is from
a volunteer who wanted to share part of her Global Volunteers experience in Peru.)

I was a member of the March 17 service team to Peru. It was my first experience with Global Volunteers, however, I had been on a number of international service teams with another organization.

I felt the need to write to you about your country managers in Peru, Mili and Edith. I was constantly amazed by these two young women. They are the most professional, yet caring and fun people I've ever met in this type of situation.

Edith, who was "in charge of us" put in an unbelievable number of hours every day, and still came in every morning with a big smile, ready for another day. Mili was also there for all of us, as well as attending meetings and offering assistance (in her spare time???!) to the children at the PPA.

Our team was small and I'm afraid a little difficult to handle in some ways, but you would never have known it from Mili and Edith. They were always there to answer questions and help us any way they could. You have two wonderful ambassadors for Global Volunteers, as well as two excellent employees in Peru.

This was my first experience with Global Volunteers, but it won't be my last, thanks to Edith and Mili and my wonderful experience in Peru.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Bair-Shockney
