PARENT WORKSHOPS

Do you have a background in healthcare, food, nutrition, early childhood development, disease prevention, education or business? Volunteer professionals conduct interactive workshops with pregnant women and parents – between 10 and 20 participants in each daily session. Parents crave knowledge and want appropriate technology so they can ensure the health and well-being of their children. Based on your professional background, you can present on one of a variety of topics, e.g., staying healthy during pregnancy; caring for newborns; child brain development; growing fruits and vegetables; raising poultry; healthy diets; preparing nutritious meals; positive discipline; psychosocial support; stress management; fitness and exercise; disease prevention; using games and toys to stimulate babies’ physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development; responding to children’s illnesses, starting a cooperative or small business, and so much more.  We have produced PowerPoint outlines for each topic (in both English and Swahili). In coordination with our staff and RCP advisory committee chair, you select your topic and just follow the outline incorporating your specific experience, expertise and real life stories. Our Tanzania staff will translate.  The more interactive your presentation, the better.  The more engaging stories you can share about your topic, the better.
