As you explore our service program in Montana, we’d like to share more about program mobility so you know what to expect and can feel comfortable and confident during your experience.

The Montana service program is in the town of Browning at the base of the Rocky Mountains. While the terrain is generally flat, there are areas that are uneven and not paved; volunteers should be comfortable with regular walking.

Walking: Volunteers should be comfortable walking at least a quarter mile on uneven, unpaved terrain for work projects. Free-time activities typically involve walking.

Community Project: Volunteers are transported by passenger van and must be able to get in and out of vehicles independently. Some work projects require climbing two flights of stairs.

Lodging: Lodging is ground level; no stairs.
