Child Nutrition
Adequate nutrition promotes capable bodies and minds – opening the world to life-long opportunities for children, their families and communities. By ensuring that pregnant women have sufficient nutrition, practice good hygiene, and are protected from infectious diseases, communities provide their children the “healthy start” they need in their first 1000 days of life. By feeding children nutritious foods, teaching them healthy eating habits, and encouraging physical fitness, we help protect their current and future potential.
You support community efforts by promoting wholesome and balanced meal preparation, distributing and supplementing nutritional supplies, expanding diet and nutrition educational resources, and contributing to successful and sustainable maternal, child and school nutrition programs. Your nutrition, dietary, agriculture and culinary knowledge is especially valuable for these volunteer assignments. Read more about volunteer service on community projects.
