Volunteer Abroad Parent Reviews

Volunteer Abroad Parent Reviews with Global Volunteers

Global Volunteers can assure you that when you volunteer as a family, your lives, in turn, will change in unimaginable ways. But don’t just take our word for it… Read on for reviews and tips from parents who recently volunteered with their families.

Hear from the parents…

Elizabeth’s Review

“We had several multi-generational pairs in our group. My son was 15 at the time of our trip. Our Tanzanian experience was wonderful start to finish. We quickly felt like we had an extended family, and really appreciate all the Global Volunteers team did to make us feel safe and welcome. It was a rare combination of fun and hard work, without the stresses (and electronics) of home to interfere with time together. The landscape was amazing, we felt safe the whole time, and the trip was wonderfully organized. Edward, our team leaders, was a great role model for my son to work with. Every teen should have an opportunity to volunteer abroad with a parent, it was quality time in the best sense of the phrase.” Contact us for Elizabeth’s contact information.

Lisa’s Review

“It’s the chance of a lifetime to share the profound experience of collaborating with your child as you serve others. Collaboration is key – you and your child will be partners in this adventure in ways that you rarely experience in your regular lives. It’s truly priceless.” Contact us for Lisa’s contact information.

Barbara’s Review

“Last summer we traveled on our fourth trip to Romania, and once again, I was amazed by my children’s willingness to work hard, go above and beyond what was expected, take initiative, and be so compassionate. As a mom, it is the best feeling to see your children develop into such capable and compassionate people.” Contact us for Barbara’s contact information.

Deborah’s Review

“Regardless of which service program you choose, Global Volunteers provides a priceless experience. It will be incredible, eye-opening, heart-wrenching, meaningful, and moving, whether for yourself, your child, or your family. An ability to connect with other people in such a unique environment will lead to further growth, compassion, and understanding… a trans-formative experience. As a result of our positive experience, I envision a long-term relationship with Global Volunteers and look forward to supporting many more service programs throughout the world. Would love to go to South America on our next adventure!” Contact us for Deborah’s contact information.

Colleen’s Review

“Our family experience in Crete last month was one of the highlights of my life. Not only was it personally fulfilling, but watching my daughter and grandsons interact with children, other volunteers and our hosts was deeply moving. We all benefited from the experience as much or more than what we gave to the children we taught.” Contact us for Colleen’s contact information.
