We are Teaching and Learning as Well

Team Journal for Tuesday 15th September 2015

Kids at Seams

Kids at Seams

As per previous arrangement all 4 groups were dropped to their facilities to continue the work. Everyone started the day very enthusiastically as all of us were better prepared and had new ideas to engage the groups that were allotted to us. This program has become a two way program now; we are teaching and learning as well. The experience of all groups is more or less the same when it comes to teaching and spending time with children at school and the children’s home

2 groups at the school are trying to find and teach students in an innovative way which is for sure a different way learning for students and I feel students are enjoying the new way as it’s different than their routine learning in the class. I believe the teaching with live examples and diagrams make them understand things in better way and for sure they remember it without trying to memories it. It is great experience for us as well as children at the school.

A group working on renovation project at Seams Children home is doing a great job they have almost completed the scrapping and now will start with painting. They are enjoying the work and thought that extra pair of hands can help them to complete the task.

A group for morning batch at Assisi Illam had a great time in the morning partying as it was holiday for little kids and they spent time playing games with other children at the home.

I think the program is going very well as is well managed and planned by Stephen. Thank you Stephen for this. I am also thankful to inVentiv for sending me on this program, this program has given me more insight about how difficult the life is for many people in this world but how happily they are living and enjoying it. In addition as we have colleagues from other offices, whom we never expected to meet or we hardly knew each other and we became good friends now. This program has given a very good opportunity for meeting other collegues and spend time with them that would never have been possible without this program.

Of course not forgetting Bill and Mathew, whom we met in Global volunteer house and we are in the same group for volunteer program. It’s nice to meet them and know their experiences in different countries.
