Landmark Cuba Volunteer Program Begins!

After a quick one-hour flight to Santa Clara, we’re off to Ciego de Avila with our gracious hosts, Eduardo and Ramon. We arrived at our wonderful hotel (Hotel Ciego De Avila), got our room assignments and had dinner at a nearby restaurant.

On Sunday, we had the privilege of joining Eduardo for his Church service. Although I couldn’t understand the language, I could feel the message in my heart and I knew how blessed I was to be standing there.  The members of the church served as a nice lunch: pork, rice and beans, salad and the best pineapple ever. We have a great team leader, awesome hosts and so far, the team is working out pretty well. I’m so excited I’m in Cuba!
