Real Progress Delights and Surprises Us
“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.”
-Ambrose Redmoon
Today started out with the nice relaxation we all needed: We watched the Aristocats and Cars (In Romanian, of course!) with all the kiddos.
We enjoyed watching Liviu and Delia reacting with such surprise and laughter at all the different scenes. The children continue to impress us with their growth – just within the past week. Luca, Alina, and Delia have all been eating some small amounts of solid food! While this will continue to take work and persistence, it is great to see all of them growing so much in such a short time!
After the long day at the hospital, it was so nice to spend the evening at Dan and Michaela’s home. They made a delicious meal, complete with birthday cake for Justin! After dinner, they showed us loads of pictures of different children they’ve worked with and the old placement center. We even saw a few of Alina as a toddler! I think I speak for all of us when I say how touched I am to be a part of the great work they are doing here for these children. This is such an amazing experience, and I can’t bear to imagine where these children would be without this wonderful organization.
