It’s wonderful To Practice Conversational English!
We are back at the school today, ready and eager to meet with the students on our 3rd to the last day. Vicky and I accompanied Rita to her class and then worked with a small group of students, making up stories together and solving crossword puzzles. After more conversations with students in the classrooms, I met Giuseppe, the Philosophy teacher, for individual tutoring.
I asked about the courses he teaches in Philosophy and he showed me the advanced textbook which he uses. He was very interested to learn that my younger son is working on his doctorate in Philosophy also. When our time was up, Giuseppe asked for my permission to exchange kisses.
I had two tutoring appointments this afternoon. Margherita is enthusiastic about practicing English and she told me about the high rate of unemployment among young Italians. This is why the young adults have to live so long with their parents. Mimma came for another lesson. We spoke as we walked to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele where we met her English-speaking friend. After a gelato at Café Roma, we continued on a walking tour of the ‘centro historico’. Penned by Barbara
