There’s so much to enjoy in Querétaro, Mexico as a volunteer – not the least, the year-round holidays and celebrations. Nearly every month, you have a reason to celebrate.

Get two for one! Help others and learn about a new culture.  Join a team this year, and share in the excitement of our partners and students.  Mexicans are very fond of inviting guests into their celebrations – and, as a volunteer, you’re treated as family.  Choose dates when our friends in Mexico take time to throw a fiesta!

Constitution day – Celebrates the Promulgation of the 1857 and 1917 Constitutions. Observance; First Monday of February.

Natalicio de Benito Juárez
Benito Juárez’s birthday – Commemorates President Benito Juárez’s birthday on March 21, 1806. Observance; Third Monday of March

Día del Trabajo
Labor day – Commemorates the Mexican workers’ union movements; Observance; First Sunday in May

Día de Independencia
Independence Day – Commemorates the start of the Independence War by Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla in 1810.

Día de la Revolución
Revolution day – Commemorates the start of the Mexican Revolution by Francisco I. Madero in 1910. Observance: Third Monday of November.

Christmas – Christmas celebration, secular and religious holiday. Observance; December 25
