Most Significant Summer Break Ever

Spend a week (or more) this summer with Global Volunteers – choose your country. Our international service programs offer the opportunity to do something new, intriguing, and fun that will enable you to have a lasting effect on the lives of children and their families in need, and grant you a meaningful, transformative experience. You’ll also have ample evening and weekend free time to explore the local culture. It all adds up to a summer you’ll never forget – for you, your companion, your family, or as a group.

Global Volunteers offers the most comprehensive array of service programs during the summer months of June, July, and August. We engage volunteers in the United States and across the globe throughout the year – 14 countries on five continents, including four US states and territories. This summer, volunteers are needed for tutoring, childcare, light labor, healthcare, English language summer camps, swimming lessons, parent workshops, home visits, and many other assignments worldwide. Expand your horizons in just one to three weeks in a way that will significantly enrich your life while directly changing the arc of children’s lives. Invest in the futures of generations to come.

Where Do You Want to Serve?

Global Volunteers works in In the U.S. and 13 other countries around the world. For instance, you can register now for a summer volunteer opportunity in Montana on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. This is an invaluable opportunity to experience Native American history, culture, and community on the reservation while providing genuine service to American Indian children and elders. Or embrace life along the U.S.-Mexico border in the rugged beauty of the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. In San Juan, Texas, you will assist migrant farm workers and recent refugees before they depart for a permanent location.

Cultural service experiences abound in our summer volunteer abroad programs. So, choose now for a meaningful – and potentially transformational – summer vacation.

European Volunteer Vacations

In Greece, teach conversational English on the spectacular island of Crete, the largest of the Greek islands, known for its gorgeous beaches and warm hospitality. Sicily (Italy) is unparalleled for its rich culture, offering exquisite cuisine, stunning art, and fascinating historical sites to explore in your free time when you are not busy improving children’s lives. Finally, in summer camps in Poland, about an hour east of Warsaw, you have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make your mark on history by helping children from Ukraine, Germany, and Poland improve their English skills, the international language of opportunity.

South America Volunteer Vacations

Volunteer in Ecuador on the outskirts of the Quito capital city area. The origin of “Ecuador” is from the Spanish form of “equator” (which runs through the country). Care for pre-school children with early childhood learning center teachers and help young students learn the ABCs in English! Or travel to Peru to serve abandoned and neglected children in a safe haven called Sagrada Familia, in a desert community outside Lima. Teach English, art, music and repair and build classrooms on the sprawling campus, or help with healthcare projects on a newly launched maternal and child care initiative.

Africa Volunteer Vacation

In Tanzanian villages, Global Volunteers’ Reaching Children’s Potential Program (RCP) Program has provided the resources and education to help parents reduce the prevalence of childhood stunting by 57%. Help expand health, education and nutrition projects by teaching workshops, helping build chicken coops, safe stoves, rainwater harvesting systems, planting container gardens, teaching in the schools, assisting healthcare staff, and sharing your professional and learned experience in mental wellness, life skills, child development, entrepreneurship and much more.

Asia Volunteer Vacation

In Nepal with Global Volunteers, you’ll work with children and women in the foothills of the Himalayas. In Kathmandu’s valley, you can contribute your skills toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by addressing poverty, improving quality education, and enhancing gender equality. Teach in schools, help repair classrooms and safe housing, and lend a hand as new projects come up.

South Pacific or the Caribbean Volunteer Vacation

If you desire a tropical setting for your service work, consider volunteering in an island community! Teach children and teens in the most spectacular Cook Islands in the South Pacific; the colorful and historic Cuba; or St. Lucia, a mountainous jewel in the West Indies. There are usually labor projects to work on as well, if “hands-on help” is more your goal.

What Skills do You Want to Share?

When determining where to volunteer this summer, consider how you can be helpful and what you want to do? No special skills other than speaking English are required to serve with Global Volunteers. Do you have professional or personal skills you’d like to utilize? Do you want to try something new? Are you serving individually, or as a couple, family, or group? Would you like to engage in team activities or work that bonds you together? Global Volunteers has service opportunities for everyone including in childcare, teaching, healthcare, light labor, special needs, conservation, administration/business, women’s coops, elder care, gender equality, and psycho-social support. In June, July, and August, our volunteers also help run special English language Summer Camps in a number of countries.

Summer Teaching

Global Volunteers needs people of all ages to teach children, youth, and adults this summer in the U.S. and across the globe. No previous teaching experience is necessary. We will provide you Global Volunteers Conversational English Teaching Guide, which makes instruction in any country easy.

English is the international language of opportunity and helping children with their English language skills can change their life. Helping teens and adults improve English proficiency enables them to obtain good-paying jobs and excel as employees in both the private and public sectors. Volunteers may also assist with other subjects as needed.

Volunteers are needed for summer teaching service programs in the Cook Islands, Cuba, Greece, Ecuador, Italy, Nepal, Peru, Poland, St. Lucia, Tanzania, and the U.S. in Montana.

Summer Healthcare

Are you a healthcare professional? You can change the course of a child and their family’s lives by helping Global Volunteers provide health education and services. Assignments may include pediatric care, maternal health and nutrition, breastfeeding support, primary care and checkups, mental wellness, physical therapy, diabetes screening and education, dental hygiene, handwashing with soap and water, first-aid training, disease prevention, HIV/AIDS & STD education, eye exams, blood pressure checks, and more. Various healthcare projects have requested volunteers in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, Peru, and Tanzania.

Our Reaching Children’s Potential (RCP) Program is currently conducted in Tanzania and Peru. Volunteer in Tanzania, where volunteer professionals serve at our modern Ipalamwa General Clinic (IGC) and brand new House for New Moms close to the IGC and where pregnant women stay the week or two before their delivery. These health centers help ensure successful pregnancies and healthy deliveries and offer services to nearly 20,000 residents from ten area villages. Volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, lab technicians, dentists, and health facility administrators are all needed to mentor the clinic staff and treat patients within the limits of their licensure. Healthcare professionals also present parent workshops on health, nutrition, hygiene, etc., and conduct home visits with members of our Tanzanian staff.

Summer Camps

Our English Language Camps are a hallmark of Global Volunteers summer programs; they help bridge student learning over the summer break. No previous teaching experience is required to do this. Global Volunteers provides you with our Conversational English Teaching Guide and access to a resource library to make your lesson planning easy and fun. You utilize your creativity, energy, motivation, and ideas from your teammates to make learning English fun for youth campers. We’ve successfully conducted English Language Summer Camps for several decades. We will show you how interactive and lively activities engage students, allowing them to improve their English pronunciation, vocabulary, phrases, and idioms. The events include skits, games, songs, field trips, and other imaginative activities. Summer Camps will be held in Greece, Italy, Poland, and Tanzania.

Three unique English Language Camps are scheduled in Poland, which will engage Ukrainian and Polish children, and one will also involve children from Germany. Each of these will include special activities!

Who Do You Want to Volunteer With?

Will you be volunteering on your own, as a couple, with a companion, as a family, or with a group? Keep our service program discounts in mind if you consider family volunteering abroad or bringing a companion.

Our summer programs have the perfect ingredients for a memorable and meaningful service-oriented vacation. Volunteer as a family, participate in a volunteer abroad program for college and university students, or engage your teen on a volunteer abroad program. Each has its benefits. Youth working with other youth in a different country and culture makes for an unforgettable experience for all involved. The summer English language camps are perfect for this. Hands-on projects on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana offer excellent family opportunities to enjoy serving together in spiritually rich and resourceful American communities. Families and groups of all compositions are welcome on all teams and children under 12 can be engaged on many programs. Check minimum ages by clicking here and scrolling to the bottom of the page.

Global Volunteers is a highly rated charity offering many options to consider in a summer volunteer program. We guarantee two things – you will make an impact, and your volunteer experience will generate fond memories for decades. Being in a different country, experiencing a different culture, and working side-by-side with local people to create something good will leave you with a new viewpoint you’ll never forget. Consider sharing this opportunity with someone else – bring a friend. And don’t let the sun set on your summer without it.
